Home was never one thing

Making Home brought many accounts of home into one exhibition. The identity could not reduce them to a single image or tone.

At Office Ben Ganz, I supported research, design development, and production. The work moved between museum communication and the exhibition environment designed with Johnston Marklee.

From deck to gallery

Early on, I worked through decks, sketches, formatting, type studies, and color studies. Those materials gave the team somewhere to test the identity before it entered the gallery.

Later, I supported signage and exhibition graphics. Type, color, hierarchy, scale, and placement all changed once the work had to operate in a room.

The graphics were part of how people found their way through the exhibition, not a layer added after the space was finished.

Graphics as part of the room

The identity had to be clear enough to orient people and open enough to hold different voices at once.
