As a kid, I took apart old phones and appliances just to understand them. I made invention notebooks. I moved between science fairs, robotics, cameras, clothes, and every small designed object I could get my hands on.

That curiosity still drives the work. The medium changes from project to project. I pay attention, find the structure, and make from there.

Griot Studio is the independent practice where I carry an idea across forms. A photograph can become a book. A book can inform an object. An object can open another round of research.

Griot began with photography, family, friendship, and the need to keep a record. Making the books led me toward objects, spaces, and systems. Each form carries something from the last and opens the next round of work.

I learned early that precision and care belong together. That belief shapes how I move through a project. I listen to the people, histories, and conditions already present. I bring those threads together, then make a form that can enter that world with care.

Reciprocity is the measure. I intend to make things that give something back to the worlds they come from and continue to evolve with them.
