A first book
Griot was my first photobook, released independently in October 2020. Its forty-eight monochrome pages gather family, friends, ordinary days, and the beginnings of the photographic life I was building around myself.
The book was a love letter to life and to the people who made that life worth photographing. I shot it on black-and-white film, then sequenced, edited, designed, and published it myself.

Learning through the whole object
Making the book meant learning every part of the form at once. The photographs had to become a sequence. The sequence had to become pages. The pages had to become an object that could leave my hands and meet a reader.
